This was an article from 2008, but I thought about it, and I say: hell no.
I just laugh when I read articles like these. They make it so simple. I know myself when I pack for my carry-on bag. I overpack the hell of my bag. My opinion: if my check-in bags are lost for some reason, I have stuff with me that will last me couple of days. So I must bring my bathroom and my closet inside that carryon bag...pun intended.
